Fall Into Tights

Fall and winter months can bring some unpredictable weather, and here in the South temperature changes can be particularly volatile. With that in mind, here’s a round-up of some of our favorite women’s legwear for whatever the next few months might throw at us.

Bullet capriSaucony Bullet Capri ($65)

A good capri is a staple in any running wardrobe, and the soft, light material of the Saucony Bullet Capri is great for temperate fall days (or those winter days that feel inexplicably like September). The Bullet Capri has a flattering wide waistband and features a continuous internal drawstring and reflective decorative trim. Best feature of all: side pockets! In addition to a small zippered pocket in the back, the Bullet Capri has a (conveniently phone-sized) cargo pocket on each side, so it’s practical for running and for day-to-day wear, when putting on real pants just isn’t an option.

Epic tightNike Epic Lux Tight ($150)

With colder temperatures come fewer daylight hours, which means runners need to dress for warmth and visibility. Enter the Nike Epic Lux Tight: this pant fits like a second skin, and the smooth, extra-stretchy material feels streamlined and very fast. All-around reflectivity increases safety on morning and evening runs without the hassle and added bulk of reflective vests or strobe lights.

Mizuno tightMizuno Breath Thermo Layered Tight ($70)

Finally, for those extra cold days, when the weather feels practically Arctic and you’d rather hibernate in a blanket fort with hot beverages than go for a run, we have the Mizuno Breath Thermo Layered Tight. These bad boys are WARM. Sweat-activated Breath Thermo panels in the thighs actually generate heat, absorbing excess moisture and turning vapor molecules into thermal energy. While these panels keep the large muscle groups of the thigh warm, zippered ankles allow ventilation to prevent overheating. A soft, cotton-like feel and wide waistband, make for an exceedingly cozy winter run.
